Penelope Thomaidi
Penelope Thomidis is a documentary photographer and visual communications designer with a passion for research and an active role in educational and curatorial initiatives.
Through long-term research projects, her work addresses environmental and social issues, exploring people’s relationship with the places they inhabit, often focusing on themes related to memory, resistance, and self-determination. Her work has been exhibited at international events such as Circulation(s) in Paris, FIF Belo Horizonte, the Helsinki Photo Festival, and the Athens Photo Festival, among others.
She studied at the Schools of Fine Arts at the University of Ioannina and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She holds an MA in Artistic Production and Research from the School of Fine Arts at the Universitat de Barcelona and is a graduate of the Creative Documentary and Photojournalism program at Spéos International School of Photography X Magnum Photos in Paris.
As a member of the Hans Lucas agency, she works with the international and Greek press.
