With a blend of jazz, Latin, and elements of electronic and traditional music, Christina Psyha will present her new project titled “Nenemo.” A performance with an atmosphere that balances the nostalgia of the past with the energy of contemporary sound. In this unique performance, Christina Psyha and her collaborators will present original Greek-language songs and musical adaptations (by Kostas Karyotakis, Tasos Leivaditis, and Fernando Pessoa), which are included on her two albums. Their creative program is complemented by arrangements of classic and beloved songs from various countries around the world, creating a performance characterized by intense dance, lyricism, and improvisation.
Christina Psyha is a singer and composer trained in classical and jazz vocals, having recently completed the master’s program at the Kapodistrian University of Athens titled “Jazz Performance & New Technologies.” In November 2021, she represented Greece at the 7th European Katara Jazz Festival in Doha, Qatar, followed by her participation in the 21st AthensJazz Festival in May in Athens, where she won the competition in the category of Best Emerging Singer-Composer. This was followed by performances in Greece and abroad (Jazzycolors Fest in Paris, Martelive Biennale Fest in Rome, cultural centers in Belgrade and Zagreb), while at the same time she stood out at the Athens Concert Hall’s auditions for emerging artists titled “Bridges,” earning a spot among the Athens Concert Hall’s collaborators. She recently distinguished herself at the 5th “Little Bear” Audition for emerging artists, standing out among 350 participants. Her first solo album, titled “Violetera,” was released in April 2021 by Ankh Music and features her own compositions, with lyrics, music, and arrangements by Nikola Anadoli. Her second album, titled “Nenemo,” is expected to be released before the end of the year and includes original songs and musical adaptations of works by Kostas Karyotakis, Tasos Leivaditis, and Fernando Pessoa. She composed and arranged the tracks herself in collaboration with Nikola Anadoli, and the album was produced by Angelos Spinos.
